The Rockport Public Library Poets’ Corner group was started in 2012 by the poets Jim Ostheimer and George S. Chappell and has been meeting regularly ever since.
In our Poets’ Corner meetings, each poet usually brings copies of the poem or poems they plan to read so they can hand them out to the other poets attending the meeting. read more
During National Poetry Month (April) and at other times, the Poets’ Corner group and Rockport Public Library host one or more special special events, inviting poets from the Midcoast to come share their work and hear the poetry of others at Rockport Public Library.
At the end of 2022 another Public Library Poets’ Corner was started in Thomaston.
There is also another organization in the Midcoast area with a name like ours. The Poets Corner was created in 2020 to focus on poetry and short prose special events and education.
